Our Legacy

Taking a keen interest in our local community, and being involved in the day-to-day upliftment of the surrounding areas, we are proud to be part of a number of projects aimed at relieving some of the social problems facing our local population.

Borate School in Mogwase:
Every school-going Monday, we deliver the following food and beverages to the Borate School in Mongwase:
• 50 litres of beef or chicken stew with vegetables
• 50 litres of pap
• 30 litres of fruit juice

Linen:
We also donate linen that no longer meets hotel standards to various charities, such as the Hospice in Rustenberg, the Lions Rotary Club in Rustenberg and the Hospice in Magwase.

Conference Donations:
In 1998, an international conference delegation wanted to put back into the community. A sizeable donation was given, and Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge orchestrated the refurbishment of the Borate School in Mogwase.

The following refurbishments were undertaken and completed:
• Classrooms were painted
• Ablution facilities were fixed up with new toilets and wash basins
• A computer classroom was built
• Windows were repaired
• Ceiling boards were put in
• A playground was erected
• Gardens were planted
• On the date of the group's visit, some of the staff went along to assist and played games with the children

Christmas:
Every Christmas a letter is sent out to all our suppliers, requesting them to assist with donations for Borate and Hospice (Mogwase). Donations are then split and distributed. A Christmas party is held for the children at Borate.

Learnerships:
We are also involved in providing learnerships to members of the community who are currently unemployed.
